Do I need prior experience to start MMA classes?

No experience necessary.  Our MMA classes cater to beginners through to advanced athletes, with coaches adapting drills and intensity to your level.

You will find training partners from every level in each class.

We have adapted our own unique MMA training system, which you will learn all about when you start training with us.

What should I wear to my first MMA class?

Comfortable, clean gym attire, that allows you to have a full range of movement.  No zippers or buttons for safety reasons.  Check out our full FAQ section here to learn more about what clothing and footwear is suitable, and other protocol around what to wear at TFC.

Is MMA training safe for beginners?

Yes. Safety is a priority at TFC. Classes are structured, supervised, and focused on correct technique before intensity.

We maintain a strict 1:20 trainer ratio, allowing for experienced eyes on you at all times.

What can I expect in an MMA class?

Classes typically include a warm-up, striking and grappling drills, technique development, and controlled partner work.

Can I do MMA for fitness without competing?

Absolutely.  As with all of our other sports at TFC, most members train MMA for fitness, confidence, and skill development. Competition is ALWAYS optional.
