Boxing For Ages 12yrs to 14yrs

Teens Boxing Classes are a great outlet for teens in our local Logan community to get to together and learn the skills of Boxing whilst using it as an outlet to burn energy and build friendships.

The classes are beginner friendly, and form part of the Teens striking program.  Our coaches focus on teaching proper form and technique using partner and bag drills.

Teens build strength, fitness and confidence in a supportive environment of like minded peers, and the classes offer a gradual pathway into our open age/adult Boxing classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Teens Boxing good for beginners?

Boxing is a great place to start for teens who might be nervous about training combat sports for the first time.

We find that lots of teens who are new to martial arts  feel more comfortable starting with Boxing, as they feel awkward with all the kicking and other strikes in Muay Thai; but once they get comfortable training in the gym we see teens try all the sports!

Of course some teens just love Boxing and choose to stick with it as their sport of choice, which is also totally fine.

Will I get punched in the face at Boxing?

When you are training Boxing there is always the risk that you’ll cop a punch to the face, but during a Boxing class the risk is generally very low due to the types of drills and instruction you are getting.

What Boxing gloves do I need for class?

When you start training at The Fight Centre for Boxing, you will need a 10oz – 12oz Boxing glove for your day to day class work; once you start sparring you will need a 16oz glove.

It doesn’t matter what brand your glove is, only that it is in good enough condition with adequate padding to protect your hands and any partners you work with during class.

The padding inside of Boxing gloves can deteriorate over time, so if you pick up a pair of gloves that you’ve had lying around the house for a while they may not be suitable for class.

Just check with the team when you come in to train.

What happens in a teens Boxing class?

Teens Boxing classes at TFC are an hour long.  The class always starts with a warm up – usually skipping ropes and/or shadow boxing.

After the warm up the coach will demonstrate the technique you’re going to learn in the class, and you’ll learn the technique through breaking it down over different drills with a partner.

This could be done in direct partner work, pad work with a partner or in a team on the heavy bags.

Coaches will move around the class through out to check on you and correct if needed.  Coaches will also routinely adjust any class content for some students when needed.

Usually the class will also end with some fitness conditioning.
